  • Head of Department — Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • President — Association of Private Medical & Dental College of Nepal

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the XVth National Conference of the Society of Surgeons of Nepal, held from 26th to 28th November 2026 at Birat Medical College Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar. Hosting the nation's surgical community on this campus is a privilege for our institution.

In my years of practice in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I have learned that medicine is measured not only in procedures performed or papers published, but in the trust a family places in us at their most vulnerable moment. That trust is the true curriculum, and I urge our trainees to pair every skill they acquire with the empathy that gives it meaning.

My congratulations to the organising committee, and my warm wishes to every delegate for three days of learning and collaboration.

With warm regards, Prof. Dr. Gyanendra Man Singh Karki Patron, SSNCON2026
